Issue/Introduction

What happens when Implementer promotion request numbers reach 9999?

Environment

PTC Implementer pre-2008 to 12.x

Resolution

• The Request Number field is a 4-character alphanumeric field
• The first request after 9999 becomes A001
• Request Numbers continue all the way to ZZZZ
• After reaching ZZZZ, the Request Number reverts back to 0001

Additional Information

• Run environmental purge or global purge (Work with Environments, option 42) to remove the history of older requests
• Old request information is merged with new request information if purge is not performed
