If a device is retired, then rediscovered and responds, a new active device would be created.
This is to facilitate the replacement of hardware while being able to report on the old and new devices.
In the earlier versions of CA Performance Management, it was not possible to have multiple devices with the same IP address. With this enhancement to the device life cycle, you can now have multiple devices with the same IP address displayed in CA Performance Management, retired and active.
As of 3.7, devices are no longer retired in CA Performance Management when deleted from Spectrum.
In 3.7, additional integration functionality from devices also discovered in NFA have been added:https://techdocs.broadcom.com/content/broadcom/techdocs/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/it-operations-management/performance-management/3-7/building/manage-devices/manage-device-life-cycles.htmlhttps://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article?articleId=144786
