Issue/Introduction

In the documentation for deleting not present components:

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/content/broadcom/techdocs/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/it-operations-management/performance-management/3-7/building/manage-devices/delete-components-that-are-not-present.html

There is a section:

"Example: Delete a Large Number of Retired Components
You can easily delete all of the retired components where the total exceeds 100,000"

Does the number of not present components need to exceed 100,000 to use this method?

Environment

Release : 3.7

Component : IM Reporting / Admin / Configuration

Resolution

The filtering examples/options are there if you wanted to take an approach that deletes the not present items on a subset of devices specified by a filter.

The section of the documentation at:

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/content/broadcom/techdocs/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/it-operations-management/performance-management/3-7/building/manage-devices/delete-components-that-are-not-present.html

"Example: Delete a Large Number of Retired Components

You can easily delete all of the retired components where the total exceeds 100,000:"

This can be used to list and delete all not present components, the total does not need to be over 100k.

Note that there can be cases where if your not present number is too high resulting in a 413 error when the rest call is made to list the items, but your count would need to be very high to hit this.

In this case, you may need to increase the limit or contact support for assistance.

Regular running of the command can help avoid this situation.
