Issue/Introduction

Is it possible to update the PHONE() field within ACF2 and call it something else? The goal is to reuse it as an employee id #). So, the name would be changed from PHONE to EmployeeNumber. Is this possible? If so, how can it be done?

Release : 15.0 & 16.0

Component : CA ACF2 for z/OS

Resolution

The PHONE field can contain any character data. However, since PHONE is in a reserved area, you cannot change it's name or it's content type. ACFLID and ACFXLID are ACF2 defined fields and they should not be changed.
