Issue/Introduction
Multiple models log the same "EngineID changed" event id 0x1003a at the same time in Spectrum.
Environment
Release : Any
Component : Spectrum Core / SpectroSERVER
Cause
The 0x1003a event is generated from a trap. It is sent by the device when the engine id has changed on the device. In this instance, all the devices in question share a common ip address. When the engine id associated with this common ip address has changed, the device sends a trap using this common ip address. Spectrum then processes this trap on all device models that share this common ip address.
Resolution
Do the following for each device model that shares the common ip address:
1. Select the device model
2. Click on the Information tab in the Component Detail panel
3. Find and expand the IP Redundancy subview
4. Set the "Use Redundancy Preferred Address List For Trap Processing" to a value of Yes
5. Click on the "Configure Preferred and Excluded Addresses" button
6. Move the common ip address from the "Redundancy Preferred Addresses" column to the "Redundancy Excluded Addresses" column and then click on the OK button
