How to run a test instance of OM Spool as well as a production instance of OM Spool on the same LPAR

Issue/Introduction

When running OM Spool in production on an LPAR using STC ESF.  Can another OM Spool also be installed on the same LPAR and a test STC.(eg. ESFT)

Resolution

When setting up 2 copies of OM  SPOOL on a single LPAR the following is required:

You will need unique SUBSYS IDS for each copy.

If using XFERCLAS they would need to be different between versions

If using APPL and NJE they would need to be different

COMCHAR can not be the same in both regions either.

Multiple Systems
In an MVS system, multiple OM Spool systems may simultaneously use the SYSOUT Allocation Intercept interface.
If the OM Spool systems are using the same selection criteria, the start order of the OM Spool systems is crucial. The last started OM Spool system always gets the SUBSYS allocation.
In general, we do not recommend that you activate the SYSOUT Allocation Intercept interface on multiple OM Spool systems unless they are using unambiguous selection criteria.
