Issue/Introduction

Symantec Endpoint Protection Mac clients fail to auto-upgrade from packages imported into the SEPM via the web console.

Error seen in smc_debug.log at clients:

ERROR DownloadPackage [...] [ERROR] Checksum does not match with the Client Package

Environment

Release : SEP 14 for Mac

Component : Installer

Cause

The SEPM web console does not properly import SEP Mac installer packages. 

Resolution

Import SEP for Mac installer packages using the local or remote SEPM Java console, rather than the web console.

Contact technical support for assistance if SEPM blocks the removal of old packages (necessary before re-importing them).
