Unable to save project in OWB due to Error: Summary task cannot have assignments

Issue/Introduction

• Error when trying to save a project back from Open Workbench (OWB):
  • Unable to save project CA Clarity PPM\PR00000. An error occurred while trying to save your project: java.lang.Exception: Summary task <XYX> cannot have assignments
• This error may be noticed for activity level tasks

Environment

Release : All supported releases

Component : CA PPM OPEN WORKBENCH (OWB)

Resolution

1. Check to make sure the task in the error message does not have any assignments
   • If there are assignments on the task, remove the assignments

                OR

1. • Change the task to a "Task" / child level task
2. If there are no assignments on the task and it's still not saving:
   • Delete the problem task
   • Recreate the task
   • Now the project should save back.
