Issue/Introduction

Is it possible to do a copy cluster command from a CA Performance Management version 3.6 data repository (vertica-9.0.1.7 ) to a version 3.7 data respository (vertica-9.1.1.5 ) ?

Environment

CAPM 3.x

Cause

Setting up a new environment plus disaster recovery on new hardware

Resolution

This cannot be done.  The database versions have to be the same.

See: https://www.vertica.com/kb/Copying-Data-Between-Similar-Vertica-Clusters/Content/BestPractices/Copying-Data-Between-Similar-Vertica-Clusters.htm#CopyFullCluster

Specifically: When performing replication, you must make sure that your source and target clusters are similar. The two clusters must have the same number of nodes, node names, dbadmin user, and Vertica database version.
