Why do I have to run the CA Dispatch utilty, DSEXPSAR or DSEXTMIG, to delete Archive report definitions instead of deleting them online?

Issue/Introduction

When I try to delete an Archive report definition from the Archived Reports Selection Screen(VARMI011), I get this message:

DC900227 REPORT MARKED FOR DELETE, BATCH PROCESS REQUIRED TO DELETE

Component : CA Dispatch

Cause

The product is working as designed because the online screens do not interface with Tape Management.

Resolution

When you delete the Archive records online, we are not interfacing with tape management.
The Tape Management system needs to be informed when there are no longer any CA Dispatch reports on a tape so that the tape can be scratched.
