ERROR: "Interface Mode Not Supported" and installation hangs with XCOM for Windows

Issue/Introduction

The installation hangs with this message displayed: User Interface Mode Not Supported.

Environment

• XCOM™ Data Transport® for Windows 11.6
• Windows 10, 64 bit
• AdoptOpenJDK

Resolution

1. Set the _JAVA_OPTIONS system environment variable to -Xms512m -Xmx1g
2. Enter the command prompt as administrator
3. Change into the directory where xcom.exe is located
4. Type: .\XCOM.exe LAX_VM "C:\Program Files\AdoptOpenJDK\jdk-8.0.242.08-hotspot\bin\java.exe"

NOTE: Update path as needed for your installation

Additional Information

Run the installer with the CTRL key held down during the unpack fuel gauge step to get the separate console window showing debug.
