Inactive objects being displayed in GUI

Issue/Introduction

We see inactive objects in the GUI display of Vantage.

Environment

Release : 14.0

Component : CA Vantage Storage Resource Manager

Resolution

There are a couple of things that control the display (or not) of the objects in the Tree.

 

Vkgparm SHOWTREE
Y (default) - All objects are displayed in the user object tree, but unavailable objects will be grayed out.

 
N - Only available objects will be displayed in the object tree.
"N" can save "curious fingers" from turning on an option that you are not licensed for which then causes messages on the console about missing LMP keys.
  
Another control is this:
Go to: Windows Client Main Toolbar / Tools / Options / Host Defaults / Display Unavailable Objects
This option enables you to view all objects, even if they are not available for the current host.
A change requires a restart of the Windows Client.
  
So, play with these options to have displayed just what you want.
