Issue/Introduction

 ALM test ID not getting updated in feature file when same ARD Script is uploaded to 2 different folders

The issue is upon export of feature files from ARD to ALM and application link is inserted into the feature file. 1st export works fine. If we need to export the test again to ALM into a different folder,  a new app link is added to the list in ARD in row #2 but when exported it again uses the link from row #1.

Cause

ARD is behaving as designed.

Resolution

Engineering and Product Management agreed to investigate a future enhancement for this request. There were several options presented as to how to improve the ALM export. The one that has less risk, and might be easier to implement is a reordering of  the application links so the newest link is always first in the order. They also are considering a more complex solution, which would allow a parameter so users have more control over what application list is exported.



They will try to work the reordering enhancement into the upcoming ARD 3.1 release (~May 2020), however they have a code freeze that is quickly approaching, and they aren't sure if they can make it before the freeze is in place. Otherwise, the enhancement will be in ARD 3.2, which is targeted for Q3-Q4 2020.
