Issue/Introduction

While trying to install WAAE, we are getting the below error:

Environment

Release : 11.3.6

Component : CA Workload Automation AE (AutoSys)

O.S: Linux/Unix

Cause

ca-waae-common-cs2-11.3.6-919.i386 conflicts with existing package that already stored in O.S with previous AE release upgraded/downgraded

Resolution

This Scenario is applicable when you uninstall WAAE and Install different Version of AE 

 

Use below method to detect packages

 

1. rpm -qa ca-*

 

2. After the list shows packages as example

 

ca-waae-agent-helper-11.3.6-1643.i386

ca-waae-base-11.3.6-1643.i386

ca-waae-common-11.3.6-1643.i386

ca-cs-utils-11.2.15090-0000.i386

ca-cs-jre-1.5.0-11.i386

3. Remove the existing packages

rpm -e --noscripts ca-waae* ca-cs* --nodeps

4.. Make sure you have a backup of this packages but its not mandatory.

 

Additional Information

- This Scenario is applicable when you uninstall WAAE and Install different Version of WAAE 

- Also, If trying to re-install with different DVD
