New custom object missing from the Application Menu in Clarity

Issue/Introduction

  • I created a new custom object but I'm the only one who can see it in the Application Menu.
  • How can I give access for others to see it in the menu as well?

Release : All Supported Releases

Component : CA PPM SECURITY INTEGRATION

Resolution

Grant the resources <Object Name> - Navigate rights to see the object in the Clarity application menu
  1. Go to Administration->Organization and Access->Resources->Click on the resource
  2. Click on the 'Resource's Access Rights - Global' tab
  3. Click 'Add'
  4. Search for the object you want to give them access to and click the check box for the Navigate right for the object
  5. You can also grant Create/View/Edit rights to the users at the Global/OBS Instances levels as needed as well.
  6. Users may need to log out and log back in to Clarity for rights to refresh.
You can also grant the rights via a group to give multiple resources access at the same time:
  1. Go to Administration->Organization and Access->Groups
  2. Click on the Group you want to grant the access to
  3. Click on the 'Group's Access Rights' tab and then select Global
  4. Click Add
  5. Search for the object you want to give them access to and click the check box for the Navigate right for the object
  6. You can also grant Create/View/Edit rights to the users at the Global/OBS Instances levels as needed as well.
  7. Users may need to log out and log back in to Clarity for rights to refresh.
