Issue/Introduction

A new DB2 subsystem that was started in production environment.  Getting these messages in syslog:

 CAS9800I - ENF-DB2 Interface Initialization in Progress
 CADB2001 - DB2 subsystem DBA1 will not be protected by CA-TOP SECRET/DB2 1.3 SP00
 CAS9803I - ENF-DB2 Interface Initialization Bypassed System DBA1

This LPAR has 3 other DB2 subsystems that have been in production for along time and show:

CAS9800I - ENF-DB2 Interface Initialization in Progress
*CADB2002 - DB2 subsystem DBA1 now protected by CA-TOP SECRET/DB2 1.3 SP00
CAS9801I - ENF-DB2 Interface Initialization Complete  System DBA1

As seen in the ENF joblog, all relevant ENF/DB2 statements were defined and accepted:

CAS9214I - CA-ENF Command: DCM(DB10DCM1)
CAS9240I - DCM      - Command complete
CAS9214I - CA-ENF Command: MODE(DB2,ON)
CAS9240I - MODE     - Command complete
CAS9214I - CA-ENF Command: DB2REL(23)
CAS9240I - DB2REL   - Command complete

1. Is there a way to refresh ENF or does it have to be recycled to fix this?

2. What else could be missing that is preventing this new DB2 subsystem to be TSS/DB2 protected?

Environment

Release : 15.0
Product : CA Common Services for z/OS
Component : CAIENF/DB2

Release : 16.0
Product : CA Top Secret
Component : TSS/DB2

Cause

A TSS DB2FAC definition did not exist for this new DB2 subsystem name.

Issue TSS MODIFY(STATUS) command to determine what DB2FAC definitions are defined.

Resolution

1. Unless there was some specific maintenance installed for ENF/DB2 or TSS/DB2, there should be no need to refresh or recycle ENF

2. Define DB2FAC for new DB2 subsystem as described in CA Top Secret product documentation.
