Issue/Introduction

Looking for any documentation on migrating from CA Common Services (CCS) 14.1 to CCS 15.0

Environment

Release : 15.0

Component : CCS390 - CA COMMON SERVICES FOR Z/OS

Resolution

There is no documentation specific to migration aside from the standard documentation that is published for CA Common Services for z/OS 15.0. The Release Notes is the best place to start.

Essentially CCS 15.0 is no different from CCS 14.1 in regards to the code and functionality.

CCS 15.0 is predominantly a re-package of the product and features that have been added over time. The Release Notes contains this information and provides a comparison of the FMIDs between 14.1 and 15.0. Install only what is needed.

Being that 15.0 is essentially the same, for the existing components currently in use, the same parameters can be carried forward as can any of the existing procs.

Two main things to know.

1. CCS 15.0 must be installed into a new CSI
2. CCS 15.0 does not support z/OS 1.13 and older

Finally, when looking to obtain maintenance above the base 15.0 delivery, filter solutions starting from January 1, 2019 forward.
