After upgrading CA Datacom to version 14.0, I can connect without a problem to my MUF from the same LPAR, but when I try to connect from another LPAR, I get DB01801E - INTERFACE ERROR - 44 and DB00502E - REQUEST ERROR - RETURN CODE 83 (080) errors.

Issue/Introduction

Description:

I just upgraded my CA Datacom software to version 14.0, and when I tested my application on the same LPAR as the Multi-User Facility (called MUF), it worked fine. However, when I ran the same test from a different LPAR, I received errors:

DB01801E - INTERFACE ERROR - 44
DB00502E - REQUEST ERROR - RETURN CODE 83 (080)

Solution:

These error messages:

DB01801E - INTERFACE ERROR - 44
DB00502E - REQUEST ERROR - RETURN CODE 83 (080)

are indicative of a problem with your environment. The Interface Error 44 indicates that on the remote system, you have not run CAS9 or the CAIRIM program to define the PC Call modules. This is found in the installation job AXRIM01 for CA Datacom/AD and BDRIM01 for CA Datacom/DB. The DBUTLTY function REPORT MEMORY=MVS provides the installed and available PC routines.

For more information about the CA Datacom/DB Program Call PC Routines, please consult the CA Datacom/DB Database and System Administration Guide for version 14.0, in the section, "Establishing Communication with z/OS › Installation and Use of the CA Datacom/DB Program Call PC Routines."

As always, please contact CA Technologies support for CA Datacom if you have further questions.
