Output Management Web Viewer

Issue/Introduction

I have tested Firefox, Chrome and Edge and they failed to support all the current features that our customers use on Web Viewer. We cannot save, export or print with these browsers.

I understand that support is being dropped for IE11. We are currently running Output Management Web Viewer 12.1 and using Internet Explorer. If Microsoft isn't going to be supporting Internet Explorer, what browser will work with our current Web Viewer?

Environment

Release :  12.1

Component : OUTPUT MANAGEMENT WEB VIEWER FOR ALL PLATFORMS

IE11

Firefox

Chrome

Microsoft Edge

Resolution

Chrome and Edge Support was originally published as LU01289 Chrome Edge Support  (Cumulative Build 209)  NOTE Install the latest cumulative build instead to get all related maintenance.

IE11 will continue to be supported with Web Viewer 12.1

Please note that there are some differences in the support as the modern browsers do not support ActiveX controls.  With Chromium and Edge you will need to use Browser printing and SMTP email. See instructions below:

The browser does not support MAPI emailing with Chrome/Edge Web Viewer 12.1

Chrome Browser Printing with Web Viewer 12.1

See Attached Web Viewer 12.1 Chrome and Edge PowerPoint Demo

Important NOTE: Do not run Edge in IE mode after applying this maintenance.

Web Viewer 11.5 works only with IE 11.  Web Viewer 11.5 will not be enhanced as End of Service (EOS) was September 30, 2021.

Additional Information

The Output Management Supportability Matrix for 12.1 has been updated. Firefox will not be supported.
