Issue/Introduction

We are using a read only user/account to share with multiple users.
How many connections or users can use a single UMP user / account before issues arise?
Is there a limit or issues that may arise with having many people using the same generic read-only account? Currently, there are about 30 people using it but we expect this to reach 100+ at certain times. We just want to be sure that everyone on a single account won’t cause corruption or any other issues.

Resolution

The number of users sharing the same account will not be an issue. However, the number of open sessions may impact performance.

One UMP server may be fine for about 30+ users (open sessions at once). You may want to check the memory and ensure it is about 16 GB delegated to the UMP wasp probe.




It would be prudent to consider adding a second UMP server.
It is possible to configure multiple UMP servers behind a load balancer to help handle the additional load.
