File Event is failing with error message : U00000009 'File Event Object': Access denied

Issue/Introduction

The File Event object is failing with the error message below found in the Details of the execution.

 

Last message U00000009 '<File Event Object>': Access denied

Environment

Release : 12.x

Component : AUTOMATION ENGINE

Cause

The user who executes the File Event object has full access to the File Event object. However, the Login attribute of the File Event object is empty and the user who executes the File Event does not have privilege of "FileEvents: Start without Login object specified" int he Privileges tab of the user object as shown below.

 

Resolution

Please  edit the User->click on the Privileges -> Check the "FileEvents: Start without Login object specified". Please see screenshot below. Once done, please execute the file event.
