Unable to register Teradata DB tables - QVCI feature is disabled.

Issue/Introduction

We are using Teradata ODBC driver 16.10. I am getting the below error while registering the table.

Environment

Release : 4.8

Component : CA Test Data Manager

Cause

This error occurs when the Teradata QVCI (Queryable View Column Information) feature is disabled on the Teradata database.

The QVCI feature is a Teradata option that controls the access to specific system tables.

Resolution

To resolve this, you would need to:

• Enable this feature on the Teradata database,
• or upgrade the ODBC driver to the latest 16.20 driver (16.20.06 or later), which contains a fix for this error.

I urge you to verify this with your Teradata DBA, before taking any actions, since Broadcom Test Data Manager Support is not certified in Teradata Database Administration. However, this is not a TDM Product related issue, and needs to be addressed on the Teradata side.
