Have more information about how MEMLIMIT parameter should be set .
Release : 14.0
Component : CA Vantage Storage Resource Manager
The theoretical limit that Vantage can allocate below the bar is based on the Vantage log sample: VAN0590D 1,656,750,080=REGION LIMIT ABOVE THE LINE
which represents 1.6GB and which is the maximum possible value available for Vantage task below the bar. In this case the task and environment is set correctly.
Recommended values for memory below and above the bar (1.6GB/50GB) are used. Both limits might be hit and it is based purely how the task is used. It depends on how many of the following resources are used at one point in time: 1. number of clients connected abend number of objects they have collected and are displaying 2. how many scripts are running 3. which objects are being used by 1)+2) ->how many records they have
That can vary by sites, by LPAR, by time, by day in week. So it is hard to recommend a specific number.
To have more details about that go to "Ca Vantage Internal Management->Memory usage": 1. Summary (MEMORYSE object)-shows total allocated memory on the system. PVT area is the private area occupied by Vantage. Column "Usage Above Dec" shows usage of memory above line/below bar (31b space). >> Task with value close or over 1GB should be analysed. 2. Display Above The Bar (MEM64USE object)-shows all the memory allocated above the bar. The statistics on the object to get the sum of all areas can be used. >> Task with value over 25GB should be analyzed.
