Monitor VPN activity for Cisco ASA

Issue/Introduction

We would like to monitor the number of VPN sessions on Cisco ASA 5585's.  It appears that maybe we need to update the vendor certification to include the crasActivity MIB table.  How can we monitor the vpn activity?

CAPM 3.x

Resolution

The following can be done to monitor VPN activity for Cisco ASA devices:

1. Download the following on-demand cert: https://ftp.broadcom.com/user/downloads/CAproducts/CAPerformanceManagement/OnDemandCertifications/On-demand_DE374577.zip
2. 3. You must now create a dashboard to monitor CurrentlyActiveSVCSessions, or possibly CurrentlyActiveSessions or both.  The IM On-Demand/Multi-Metric Trend Report is a good view to use



This should allow you to successfully monitor VPN sessions for Cisco ASA devices
