Issue/Introduction

We have an environment with one data repository and we want to migrate to a new environment with three clustered data repositories. Is it possible to migrate our data to the new cluster?

What would be the procedure?

 

Cause

Vertica database move from single to multiple node cluster for increased availability

Environment

Release : 3.7

Component : IM Reporting / Admin / Configuration

Resolution

a) Back up the existing single-node database
b) Create a new node with the valid IP and/or hostname
c) restore the database on the new single node instance
d) then add the two nodes to this new instance
