Service Virtualization

Issue/Introduction

Having troubles with VSE and it is not loading any services in Portal.

Have two issues that appearing: 1) Portal cannot find the VSE to load and 2) when it does load it takes a long time to load the services.

Cause

There might be a corrupted mar file, which is why we are copying in sets of 10 and the fact that the Registry and Portal are running on an unsupported platform, Windows 2008 server, that could be causing this issue.

Environment

Release : 10.3

Component : CA Service Virtualization

Resolution

We have two issues that appearing: 1) Portal cannot find the VSE to load and 2) when it does load it takes a long time to load the services.

We did the following:

1) Brought down VSE, Portal and Registry.
2) Applied patch_DE429918_10.3.0_GA.jar to the Registry/Portal machine in folder DEVTEST_HOME\lib\patches folder.
3) Updated the DEVTEST_HOME\bin\VirtualServicesEnvironmentService.vmoptions file
* Uncommented the lisa.vseName to have named SYSVSE
4) Started all components, issue still persisted.
5) Bought down only VSE.
6) Reviewed the DEVTEST_HOME\bin\VirtualServicesEnvironmentService.vmoptions file again and noticed:
* There were two properties did not have -D in front of them, so added
* Then changed property name lisa.registry.url to lisa.registryName
7) Deleted all files in the DEVTEST_HOME\vseDeploy\SYSVSE_2015 folder. (we backed up folder first)
8) Started VSE.
9) Copied 10 .mar files at a time to SYSVSE_2015 folder.
10) Started to see services running although the refresh is extremely slow.

Was able to copy over all the services doing in small increments of 10.

Portal is stable.
