Cause

The version of Protection Engine that ships with Protection for SharePoint Servers requires a license specific to Protection for SharePoint Servers. When an incorrect license is used, the scan request will fail.

Resolution

Ensure that the license you are using is for Symantec Protection for SharePoint Servers. You can determine if it is by opening the .slf license file in notepad and looking at the Product Name listed there. Licenses are stored in C:\ProgramData\Symantec Shared\Licenses. If you need help obtaining a license, please contact your sales rep. Technical Support cannot help with obtaining licenses.

Note: The license file named SSE-CSAPI-License.slf should never be removed.
