Issue/Introduction

In the TITLE statement of the Easytrieve Plus program, some Kanji Characters were specified. The report result was displayed as follows.

Because the date in the title was preferred to be displayed in English by the customer, the MESSAGE parameter value in the EZTPDBCS setting was customized to "ENGLISH" from "DBCS". But the date wasn't displayed in English even though the MESSAGE parameter was customized with "ENGLISH".

How the date in the title can be displayed in English in a DBCS report?

Resolution

First, the MESSAGE parameter in the EZTPDBCS definition can change the language type for a error or warning message.  So, if the MESSAGES ( ENGLISH ) is specified, a error or warning message will be displayed in English. If the MESSAGES ( DBCS ) is specified, a error or warning message will be displayed in DBCS(Japanese). 

If the customized EZTPDBCS module is referred, the DBCS function is enabled and the date and page in a title of a Easytrieve Plus report (DBCS option enabled) are usually displayed in DBCS characters. 
If the date or page is hoped to be displayed in English in a (DBCS) report result, the NOKDATE or NOKPAGE parameter should be specified in a REPORT statement in a target program.
