You can create profiles to monitor the storage systems. Each profile uses a connection to an IBM SVC or V7000 storage system to collect and store monitoring data. 

 

Follow these steps:

 

Click the Options (icon) next to the ibm_svc node.

Select Add New Profile

 

Hostname

specifies the hostname or the IP address of the storage system.

 

 

Port

specifies the port number that the probe uses to connect to the storage system.

 

Default: 443

 

Specify 5988 as the port number to connect to the storage system. Use 5989 as the port number for a secure connection to the storage system.

Unable to Connect to the Storage System

Valid on ibm_svc probe version 1.06 or later

 

Symptom:

Unable to connect to the storage system using the Transport Layer Security (TLS).

 

Solution:

Ensure that the TLS protocol is enabled in the probe.

Follow these steps:

 

Open Raw Configure for the ibm_svc probe.

Navigate to the startup folder and edit the options key to include the TLS versions:

-Xms256m -Xmx1024m -Duser.language=en -Duser.country=US -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -Dhttps.protocols=TLSv1,TLSv1.1,TLSv1.2

Save your configuration changes.
