How Does Autoscheduling Work With External Dependencies?

Issue/Introduction

Dependencies need to be taken into account when scheduling a project. Dependencies can be either internal (e.g.: a task depends on another task from the same project) or external (e.g.: a task depends on another task from a different project). How does autoscheduling work with external dependencies?

Environment

Any Clarity PPM release.

Resolution

When you do the autoscheduling, the external dependencies are not moved, as they belong to another project and possibly, to another Project Manager. If that task was moved, there could be a conflict with the rest of the tasks from the dependency, or unwanted changes for that other Project Manager. If there are external dependencies, schedule them in the other project before running the autoschedule.
