Cause

K01502 to allow 2 regions on the same LPAR to link and synch is applied.

The file PNL is vulnerable to corruption because of the VSAM share options 3,3 and being opened for update from 2 regions. SOLVE is not designed to support this arrangement except for USERIDS.

Resolution

- The cause of the error
   The file PNL is vulnerable to corruption because of the VSAM share options 3,3 and being opened for update from 2 regions.
   SOLVE is not designed to support this arrangement except for USERIDS.

- Steps to recoveryVSAM Data component to PS file
      DCB=(BLKSIZE=8192,LRECL=8188,RECFM=VB,DSORG=PS)
  2) SORT the file with SORT FIELDS=(5,41,BI,A)
  3) REPRO to the VSAM cluster to DEL/DEF PNL file.

- Circumvention   Two options:

1. Change the file to INPUT on one of the regions. This can be done now without recycling the region by the parameter group
or
2. Change the PNL file to VSAM RLS and change the VSAM OPTIONS to RLS on both regions. Before doing this, should read Chapter 5 VSAM Record Level Sharing of the VSAM Demystified red book.
