Foreign exchange rate portlet showing older rates as current

Issue/Introduction

Foreign exchange rates setup shows older rates from 2017 along with the 2020 rates (Current year). The "show current rate" does not seem to be doing its job and seeking solution to remove those old rates from the current rate.

Resolution

The system can have many exchange rates and when one selects "show current rates only" filter. It shows the most current exchange rates based on effective date AND the Exchange rate type.


Lets take the conversion example: AUD to EUR from a live system.




If the filter option "Show current rates" is not checked then a larger list is displayed:



Filter on the exchange rate type individually to better understand the filtering logic.


First click the "Average" calculation method (highlighted the most current)



Now exchange rate type as Fixed method (highlighted the most current rate):
