CICS Performance Problem after a CICS User Refresh

Issue/Introduction

Serious performance problems after refreshing a CICS user, that runs transactions intensively. 

At the time of the problem the AUDIT attribute was turned on.

Component : CA Top Secret for z/OS

Auditing

Resolution

Auditing the CICS region acid will cause performance issues since all security activity will be logged to the Top Secret Audit Tracking File.

The more users that logon to CICS, the more of a performance impact will occur.

Auditing has a performance cost.

Multiple that cost for every security event and it can be a very expensive performance overhead..
