Budget values don't save on Financial Summary page after deleting cost Plan

Issue/Introduction

  • When I try to enter the budget on the Financial Summary screen (Simple budget), the financial values I enter disappear when saving.
  • I previously created a cost plan that has an approved budget, but I removed all the cost plans before I tried to enter the simple financials.

Cause

This is working as designed.
  • Budget plans aren't possible to be deleted per current design.
  • This prevents the budget data from being able to be added in the Financial summary section since the system still sees budget data entered in the detailed budget plan.

Resolution

The one option if you wanted to switch from a complex budget to simple budget would be to:
1. Create a new project
2. Add the simple cost plan details in the new project
3. Use the New User Experience (UX) Hierarchy to create a hierarchy relationship to rollup the data together.
