DUAS6: FILE Objects Resources not detected on AS400

Issue/Introduction

Dollar Universe 6 for AS400 is not able to detect FILE Library resources as they were defined on version 5.
Only IFS resources work fine.

Example from v5 documentation:

It’s possible to create resource conditions on objects of the type FILE.
Library file

To define a resource on object OBJNAM type TYPNAM in LIBRARYNAM library, the resource should be defined as below:
· Name: FILENAM.FILE
· Location: /QSYS.LIB/LIBRARYNAM.LIB

Environment

OS: AS400 
Component : DOLLAR UNIVERSE
Release : 6.x

 

 

Cause

This is a defect introduced in version 6 of Dollar Universe.
On AS400, file resources may have names as directory. The condition was never satisfied even if the directory existed.

Resolution

Workaround:

Modify the resource definition as below:

· Name: *.MBR
· Location: /QSYS.LIB/LIBRARYNAM.LIB/FILENAM.FILE

Solution:
Details: The resource is now checked the same way whether the file name in the resource definition is a regular file or a directory.

Update to a fix version listed below or a newer version if available.
