Issue/Introduction

When planning an environment migration, administrators often need to know if active tasks, pending approvals, and offline processes can be moved between environments. This article clarifies the limitations regarding the migration of in-progress work items.

Resolution

Currently, there is no supported method for migrating in-progress work items between environments. The following items cannot be migrated:

• Pending workflow approvals
• Offline endpoint resubmits
• Active, incomplete work items

Note: Because work items are tied to specific transaction IDs and state data within the source environment's database, attempting to manually move these records can lead to database inconsistency and corruption. It is recommended that you clear all pending work items in the source environment before proceeding with an environment migration or version upgrade.
