Issue: 

Ghost Solution Suite Release Update installation failure for a domain user in a set up with Symantec Endpoint Protection version 14 or other third-party antivirus software.

Resolution

Environment: 

SEP14 is installed with latest signatures.

Creating dbinstaller.log in the specified path failed due to the following error:

The system cannot find the device specified.

Note:

The error is displayed when the installer is attempting to complete the database changes and all the other installation steps are completed successfully.

 

 

Run the following SQL statement on the GSS Database:
alter table dbo.image_task ADD image_partition tinyint

 

GSS 3.2 RU4

GSS 3.2 RU5

Creating dbinstaller.log in the specified path failed due to the following error:

The system cannot find the device specified.

Note:

The error is displayed when the installer is attempting to complete the database changes and all the other installation steps are completed successfully.

 

Ignore the error and continue with the installation

Failed to Connect with the SQL Server. 
Check the Firewall and Antivirus settings and retry.
