SEP (Symantec Endpoint Protection) for Mac fails to perform manual scans

  • When initiated from SEP client GUI, get popup for "starting scan.." which is immediately replaced with "Scan completed". The scan is doing nothing, e.g. a scan of user Desktop with present file will find nothing.
  • When initiated from right-click menu, get "Scan Error" pop-up.


This issue is fixed in SEP 14.2.5570 for Mac or newer
