IT Management Suite version 7.5 SP1 HF5

Starting from IT Management Suite 7.5 SP1 Hotfix 5, Symantec Management Platform and related solutions support client computers that use OS X 10.10 Yosemite.

List of supported solutions

IT Management Suite provides support for client functionality for the OS X 10.10 Yosemite.

The Full Support functionality is limited to the following components, solutions, and features of the IT Management Suite:

  • Network Discovery
  • Symantec Management Agent for UNIX, Linux, and Mac on client computers
  • Execution of tasks and jobs on client computers
  • Deployment Solution
  • Inventory Solution
  • Patch Management
  • Software Management

Note: The components and solutions that are not explicitly listed in the list are not supported. The usage of these components and solutions might lead to undesirable outcomes. 

Known limitations in Full Support of OS X 10.10 Yosemite

Description

For In Mac OS X 10.10, the automation folder is not installed on the client computer.

Automation folder is not installed on a Mac 10.10 computer.

Workaround:

Run the following command on a Mac OS X 10.10 computer when booted in the production environment:

diskutil coreStorage revert <diskidentifier>

For example:

diskutil coreStorage revert disk1

In Max OS X 10.10, the Deploy Image task fails.

The Deploy Image task fails after the client computer is booted using a NetBoot image.

Workaround:

Run the following command on a Mac OS X 10.10 computer when booted in the production environment:

diskutil coreStorage revert <diskidentifier>

For example:

diskutil coreStorage revert disk1
