In the patch management metadata for Windows release 7.2.7, the bulletin CSWU-48 contains the March 2017 Microsoft Windows 10 monthly cumulative updates only. In the patch management metadata for Windows release 7.2.8, the bulletin is updated with the March 2017 Microsoft Windows 10 monthly delta updates as well.
If you have created a software update policy with the CSWU-48 bulletin from the 7.2.7 metadata release, then after the bulletin is updated with the 7.2.8 metadata, the cumulative updates will not be applicable to the managed client computers that have cumulative updates installed for the previous month, as now the delta updates will be applicable to these computers. The delta updates will be automatically added to the policy and distributed on these computers only if the options Automatically revise Software Update policies after importing patch data and Enable distribution of newly added Software Updates are checked on the Import Patch Data for Windows page.
If the options are unchecked, you need to update the policy manually by performing one of the following actions to enable the distribution of the delta updates to the computers patched with the previous month's cumulative updates:
Note: Patch Management Solution uses applicability rules associated with updates. Currently, the applicability rules for the cumulative updates from the CSWU-048 bulletin are configured to consider the cumulative updates as installed rather than not applicable on the computers patched with the previous month's cumulative updates. As a result, you may see both cumulative and delta updates as applicable to these computers in reports. The current behavior is under review and may be corrected in future patch management metadata for Windows releases. This behavior does not affect the actual software update installation logic, so only the delta updates will be installed on such computers.
