Issue/Introduction

You are unable to export client install package from the web console when using the "Install a client" Task when using the Web Console.

Environment

This issue affects Symantec Endpoint Protection 14.2 Release Update 2 (14.2 RU2) and Release Update 2 Maintenance Patch 1 (14.2 RU2 MP1).

This issue affects the Web Console only.

Symantec is aware of this issue and will update this document when a solution becomes available. Please subscribe to this article to be notified of any updates.

As a workaround, you can use the following methods to export a client install package:

Via the local Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager console, or the Java console. All client export options using these console types function correctly.

OR

Via the Web Console:

  1. Log in to the Web Console as an administrator that is able to export install packages
  2. Click on the Admin tab near the bottom of the left pane
  3. Click on Install Packages at the bottom of the middle pane
  4. Click on the install package you want to export to highlight it
  5. Click on "Export a Client Install Package..." under Tasks
  6. Complete the client export wizard as presented. You will be prompted to save the package at the end of the export process.

Note: If you have a pop-up blocker or extension installed in your web browser, you may need to disable it temporarily during the client export process, or add the Web Console site to the pop-up blocker/extentions whitelist.
