Uninstall of Mac agent on Catalina fails.

Issue/Introduction

 Attempting to remove the Symantec Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Endpoint Agent from a MAC Catalina (10.15.7) system results in the following error:

"Uninstall_agent can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software"

 

Cause

Gatekeeper is blocking the uninstall application

Resolution

To resolve the issue perform the following steps:

1. open terminal

2.sudo spctl --add <path to uninstall_agent>/uninstall_agent

3. Try the uninstall again which should now complete.
