Issue/Introduction

Unable to pull DLP agent version from info.plist after upgrading to Macos 10.15.x

unable to determine version of edpa agent using endpoint management systems

Environment

Macos 10.15.x

Edpa agent 15.5.x

 

Cause

The info.plist was moved to /Library/Manufacturer/Endpoint Agent/CUI.app/Contents/Info.plist after upgrading to 10.15.x.

Where as in 10.14.x and below the info.plist was located at /Library/Manufacturer/Endpoint Agent/macpd.kext/Contents/Info.plist

Resolution

Modify the plutil command to check the /Library/Manufacturer/Endpoint Agent/CUI.app/Contents/Info.plist in 10.15.x

For Big Sur and above and the endpoint agent binary changes to SEHA.app

You can find the plist at this location for Big Sur and Monterey:

/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.symantec.manufacturer.agent.plist
