Issue/Introduction

Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) 14.2 RU2 Configuration Wizard does not accept + or & characters when configuring Windows Authentication SQL password.

STDERR: java.sql.SQLException: Error logging into the Windows domain XXXXXX.XXXXXX.org. SEPM needs be configured with windows account by format "DomainName\WindowsAccountName"!. If domain name is not explicitly specified, SEPM will use server name as domain name. You can update the Windows user name to include appropriate domain name during server re-configuration. Run Management Server Configuration Wizard to make this change.

Resolution

Workaround

Use a password that does not include the + or & characters.
