SEPM LiveUpdate fails to download new definitions

Previous to December 20th, 2019 FTP was an option and definitions were downloaded successfully, however due to FTP security the sites were decommissioned and are no longer available.

The issue for HTTP or HTTPS is due to Proxy settings.


To resolve the issue, follow these steps:

  1. Log into the SEPM console with an Administrator account.
  2. Click on Admin in the lower left pane.
  3. Click on Servers in the second left pane near the bottom.
  4. Right-click on the Server representing your SEPM having the issue and choose edit server properties.
  5. Click on the Proxy Server tab.
  6. Change the HTTP and HTTPS Proxy Settings to a working, valid proxy server.
