Issue/Introduction

Browsing the Manage > Software page, the error “An error has occurred that prevents the data displaying. Check server logs for details.” is seen after clicking on a software filter.

Error displaying in the console:

"An error has occurred that prevents the data displaying. Check server logs for details." will be displayed in the middle pane.

Entry in the SMP Logs:

Failed to run filter.

Resolution

Reconfigure the ITMS Management Views using the Symantec Installation Manager (SIM)

  1. Open SIM
  2. Click Repair installed products
  3. Reconfigure installed products
  4. Check ITMS Management Views (Note: Dependent solutions will automatically be checked as well)
  5. Click Next and proceed through the configuration
