Data Loss Prevention Endpoint Prevent Data Loss Prevention

Issue/Introduction

The EDPA.exe is spiking the CPU and does not release the memory.

Cause

The policy had too many exceptions entered.

Resolution

A temporary workaround is to disable the policy that is causing the CPU spike.

  • If the exception contains layers of individuals and/or domains, an additional solution would be to set up a group in AD and add/remove users as needed.
  • Then configure the user exception in the policy by adding the group.

Refer to the Symantec Data Loss Prevention Help Center for assistance configuring user group exceptions.
