Issue/Introduction

You have installed some Solutions manually. When you try to use those Solutions, you get some license errors saying that there are no valid licenses applied. When you try to open SIM ( Symantec Installation Manager) to verify that those Solutions have valid licenses, those Solutions don't appear the all.
Why doesn't Symantec Installation Manager (SIM) display license information for those Solutions?

Resolution

Answer
This can occur when installing Solutions using the MSIs rather than SIM. If a Solution is installed manually (without SIM), SIM doesn't have a record that it is installed, so it doesn't display that it is currently installed and what licenses are applied.

The Solution must be contained in the Product Listing so that SIM can detect and display it. However, if you apply for a valid license when it doesn't appear that is installed in SIM, SMP will detect the certificate created and apply it to the corresponding Solution. Make sure you have a valid license. Then, Apply those licenses through SIM and then restart the Altiris Services.
