Why is DCD's DCDCONTL STC performing excessive amounts of EXCP I/O's?

Issue/Introduction

Monitoring the tasks DCDCONTL and DCMMAIN, the  DCDCONTL is performing large number of I/Os (EXCPs). What is causing this?

Cause

The excessive EXCPs I/O's appear to be generated by events that aren't actually EXCP requests. A PMR was opened with IBM to explain the behavior.  In the interim, DCD maintenance was developed to greatly reduce these EXCP I/O 's.

Resolution

Adding the statement IJO="$IJO -Ddb2.jcc.tracePolling=false" to CFEYOPTN(FEYCTRLR).resolved the excessive I/O's.
