Issue/Introduction

  • In Some cases it is necessary to put individual SystemEDGE monitors into maintenance to avoid unwanted traps\alarms.
  • The above can be accomplished using the edgemon and edgewatch utilities.
  • All monitors that SystemEDGE will actively alarm\trap on are located within the sysedge.mon folder.

Resolution

The following command will put process monitor with index 11 into maintenance.

The sysedge.mon will show the monitor as notInService

processmon {
  11
  "Windows Time”
  60
  absoluteValue
  procAlive
  ne
  1
  0x8000
  "net start w32time”
  "Windows Time”
  164
  notInService
  “processEntry”
  "//./Windows Time”
  “processAlive”
  major
  major
  0 0 0 0
}

The following command will put process monitor with index 11 to active.

The sysedge.mon will show the monitor as "active"

processmon {
  11
  "Windows Time”
  60
  absoluteValue
  procAlive
  ne
  1
  0x8000
  "net start w32time”
  "Windows Time”
  164
  active
  “processEntry”
  "//./Windows Time”
  “processAlive”
  major
  major
  0 0 0 0
}
